CPT Exam is held twice a year in the month of June and December. It is a test of four subjects –

- Fundamentals of Accounting - FA
- Mercantile Laws - ML
- General Economics - GE
- Quantitative Aptitude - QA

__CPT is an objective type test with negative marking. __CPT Exam is for 200 marks and is divided into two sessions of two hours each with a break in between.

In the CPT Exam, every right answer fetches you 1 mark and wrong answer deducts 0.25 marks. So, actually, if you answer a question wrongly, you lose 1.25 marks in total.

Students need to get a minimum of 30% marks in each subject and a minimum of 50 %marks in average, after considering all the four sections to pass the CPT. As such both the conditions should be satisfied for you to succeed the CPT Exam, 30% in every individual subject and 50% overall level. As such, it is quite possible that your overall score in CPT is 110 marks but you might fail the exam if in any of the subject you score less than 30% marks.

Subjects to be studied in CPT are as follows
